The pawl is the critical internal component that engages the Tangless drive notch, and is responsible for holding the insert as it threads into the the STI tapped hole. The KATO One Pawl Fits All System was designed to eliminate customer confusion by using the same pawl for any KATO Tangless installation tool of the same thread size. No other manufacturer offers a one pawl system; consequently, users are required to purchase different pawls for different tools of the same thread size. The KATO One Pawl Fits All system reduces inventory management, simplifies ordering, and reduces costs for users of KATO Tangless inserts and tools. A "K" on the end of the part number designates a Kit which includes 1 Pawl, 2 Springs and 2 Pins.
