ratings with the use of materials such as 94V-2 or 94V-0.
Over 3,000 products are cross-referenced to MIL Spec parts,
including several built to MIL-M-38527 recently replaced
by CID A-A-55485 specifications.
The
New Optoelectronics Division
Bivar’s
Optoelectronics Division formed in 1997 is structured
to answer the rapidly growing interest in fast product
delivery capabilities for LED assemblies. The demand,
both for new product prototyping and new product development
windows where time-to-market is sensitive, marks an unprecedented
change in the traditional provision of hardware to the
integration of components, specifically optoelectronics.
Since Bivar is a recognized supplier of industry’s
largest selection of LED mounts, holders and assemblies,
their entry into this market is a natural and strategically
important step, which provides many benefits to OEMs and
designers using LEDs in their products.
Bivar noticed that although
they offer virtually unlimited number of colors, styles
and mounting options in hundreds of combinations, an increasing
number of customers were frustrated securing LED assemblies
quickly. In response, Bivar introduced their Internet
web site (http://www.bivar.com),
offering customer design options in a "Design Your
Own" format, which provides a downloadable customer
request form that can be completed, then e-mailed or faxed
directly to the factory. Utilizing this state-of-the-art
technology, response and shipment of samples for evaluation
and first article prototype is reduced to a 24 to 48 hour
period.
